Acton Community Cricket Tournament.
My name is Aditya Narayan and I am a Junior in Acton Boxborough High School. My project title is the Acton Community Cricket Tournament.
This friendly cricket tournament is aimed to bring the community together through a new experience. I enjoy playing and watching cricket. Cricket is picking up the buzz across the United States, especially with the sport returning to the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles after 128 years.
Acton is well positioned to help introduce and grow this sport, especially with the large cricket ground on School Street. Cricket is played in many countries and given Acton’s diversity, it might bring back childhood memories for some adults and introduce the younger kids to a new sport.
I propose this tournament as it will introduce and celebrate the sport of cricket while fostering community connections, cultural exchange, and outdoor fun.
The tournament will host a friendly bracket-style format featuring mixed teams of youth and adults. We will have refreshments, music, awards, and most importantly, outdoor fun.
