Position Title: Youth Program Assistant
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week between 1 and 5 pm, one day per week (same day every week in order to repeat interactions with program youth)

Organization Summary
Danny’s Place is a 501c3 organization that provides young people with experiences to explore, create, and discover their happiest, healthiest selves - through inclusive community programming, social-emotional experiences, and supportive resources. The organization has been serving Acton, Boxborough and local community youth for over 20 years and has three pillars of impact: mental health and wellbeing, self-exploration and life skills, and leadership and community building.
Position Summary
The Youth Program Assistant supports Danny’s Place’s mission by helping create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for young people. Volunteers in this role assist staff with program setup, activities, and supervision, serving as positive role models for youth participants.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome youth and help them feel comfortable and included in activities.
Assist staff in setting up, facilitating, and cleaning up program spaces.
Support youth during activities such as arts, games, discussions, or workshops.
Encourage positive peer interaction and uphold program expectations for behavior.
Help with light administrative tasks (e.g., attendance, organizing supplies) as needed.
Communicate any concerns about youth wellbeing or program issues to staff promptly.
Qualifications
Enthusiasm for working with youth
Friendly, reliable, and able to take direction
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
Prior experience working with youth is helpful but not required
Must complete background check and volunteer orientation
