Annual Report 2025

A letter from our Executive Director

“Friends,

I have a heart full of gratitude for you all - donors, staff, board, volunteers, partners - for what you have made possible this year at Danny’s Place! You are the ones who understand the ripple effects that can happen when children grow up with outlets for creativity, learning, and connection. 300+ children have experienced that Danny’s Place Difference this year, and so many more will as we reach our 20th anniversary milestone!

Stay tuned, we are just getting started.”

-Katie, Executive Director

Our Mission

Community is at the Heart of What We Do

We provide young people with experiences to explore, create, and discover their happiest, healthiest selves - through inclusive community programming, social-emotional experiences, and supportive resources.

Our Work

We provide after-school and out-of-school programming in small groups for all youth ages 3-18 with the purpose of building skills and wellbeing across these three pillars that are not always addressed in school or at home, but are critical to youth wellbeing...

Self-Exploration & Life Skills

Our hands-on programs help youth develop in ways that are important to them, and help them navigate real life with clarity and resilience. We offer financial literacy workshops to hobby development and so much more.

Mental Health & Wellness

Through guided conversations, creative expression, and trusted relationships, we normalize emotions, reduce stigma, and help young people build coping skills and healthy habits that support them now and into the future.

Leadership & Community Building

Through peer-led projects, service learning, and collaborative programs, youth build confidence, strengthen relationships, and experience what it means to belong to and create a supportive community.

In addition to in-house programming, Danny’s Place partners with schools, towns, and community organizations to respond to emerging youth mental health needs. We also participate regularly in coalitions to ensure our work is integrated into broader systems of support, and we learn from partner organizations.

Our Highlights

Days Off Program

We launched our Days Off program to create joyful, community-centered experiences on school holidays. Our 2025 Lunar New Year celebration engaged K–12 youth in exploring Chinese culture through art, storytelling, and a dragon dance parade, in partnership with the Acton Chinese Language School. Days Off will continue to offer meaningful learning and connection beyond the classroom.

Teen Fellowship

This year, Danny’s Place expanded teen programming with a focus on leadership and voice through the launch of our Teen Fellowship. Our trust-based model empowers teens to co-create, lead, and take on real responsibility—helping shape the future of Danny’s Place.

Arts Elevate

We strengthened mission-aligned partnerships to expand our impact, including a collaboration with the Greater Lowell Community Foundation through Arts Elevate. Together, we hosted “From Paper to Person”, a creative residency inviting middle schoolers to explore art as a pathway to wellness and connection.

[For my son] getting selected for U-Project gave him so much confidence in
himself...Throughout the journey, we saw him getting more confident and
independent, and most of all feeling like he has a voice and an opinion that
matters.
